Holy Week: Semana Santa, also known as Holy Week, is one of the most important periods leading up to one of the most important holidays, Easter, in all of Mexico. While dates may vary every year depending on when Easter is, what is certain is that you'll see lively processions, floral decorations, and displays of effigies being burnt in almost every corner of the corner. Many schools have the entire week off and most businesses and public offices take off work starting on Maundy Thursday. One can see beautiful gardens, dazzling floral arrangements, and intricately designed flower sculptures throughout Mexico City, with the best of these creations to be found in the Polanco neighborhood of the city. Exact dates of the festival change every year, so be sure to check before you plan on attending.

San Marcos National Fair: La Feria de Mexico, or the San Marcos National Fair, is one of the oldest and most important fairs in the country. Exact dates differ every year, but it usually starts around mid to late April and goes on for a few weeks through the beginning of May in the city of Aguascalientes in Central Mexico. Stalls, markets, dance performances, live music, and fireworks are all on display during this event that is attended by thousands from across the country.
