"Hi there, I'm Carper Li, a content specialist at Highlights Travel Family. Following my college graduation, I ventured into the e-commerce industry, holding various roles, such as online store operator, PPC specialist, and customer support over the span of several years. I'm relatively new to the tourism industry, having joined Global Highlights just after the pandemic."
My Story
Unlike my previous rigid emphasis on writing product copy and selling points, I now focus on crafting engaging travel guides that offer valuable insights to travelers, ensuring they embark on rewarding journeys.
In order to maintain the relevance of these guides, I understand they must keep up with the times. I rely not only on my personal travel experiences and insights from seasoned experts, but also cross-check verified information from the destination's official website, local travel agencies, and recent travelers. This strict process guarantees that the guides are not only accurate but also up-to-date, detailed, and customized to cater to the evolving needs of our readers.
Finding fulfillment in facilitating once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences propels me in my professional pursuit. The genesis of this inner drive traces back to my junior schooling days in Guilin, a renowned tourism hub in China, I accidentally encountered a foreign tourist couple who asked me for directions. Overcoming the language barrier through broken English and gestures to guide them towards their destination and witnessing their smiles of relief and gratitude catalyzed a sense of accomplishment that has fueled my journey thus far, and it continues to propel me towards a future of helping fellow travelers reach their goals.
My Travel Highlights
On a recent trip to Hong Kong, China, in 2023, I was impressed by the distinctive dialect, slightly older urban areas, and high consumer prices. Moreover, wherever I traveled, I met friendly smiles and sincere strangers who helped me so much and made my trip go smoothly. Language and culture may create communication barriers, but there are no national boundaries between people. This is at least part of why I love traveling and this job: I can meet and help different people, and I can discover in my own way.
