Tour Highlights

We have just returned from an amazing trip to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Our travel adviser Albee Ning prepared a wonderful itinerary taking us to great locations with creative activities highlighting local culture.
We traveled with Asia Highlights (Lissie was our agent) several years ago when we went to Saigon, and the experience was so positive, we automatically went to Asia Highlights again for an extensive trip to Southeast Asia.
Itinerary Details
The itinerary below is only a typical sample and you may alter any aspect of it. Tell us your needs and our travel advisors will tailor-make it to meet your requirements.
Meals provided: lunch
Cappadocia, located in the heart of Turkey, has an almost moonlike landscape. It is believed that all the magical structures in this place were originally carved by the Hittites more than 3,000 years ago. Miles of caves, tunnels, and rock formations form a vast subterranean city that is as large as any city on the surface.
Upon arrival in the morning, meet your guide at the airport and proceed with your exploration of this amazing place. First, visit the vantage point of Goreme and gaze out into the distance for panoramic views all around. Head to Pasabag to enjoy well preserved fairy chimneys, which are iconic structures in the Cappadocia region and are also called "mushroom chimneys". Continue to Devrent Valley and see unique animal-shaped fairy chimneys and search for the most popular one, shaped like a camel.
Have a flavorful meal at Avanos, which is famous for magnificent pieces of pottery made of clay from the Red River. Take a leisurely stroll around this small town to meet some potters and learn this ancient craft at a local workshop. Perhaps pick some hand-crafted souvenirs to take home with you. Before heading back to the Cave Hotel, stop at Love Valley to find out the reason for its name. If there is sufficient time, hike along the valley and marvel at the amazing views.
Hotel suggestions:
Mustafa Hotel (4-star)
Avrasya Hotel (5-star)
Meals provided: breakfast and lunch
Start another big adventure with Kaymakli Underground City. It is the largest subterranean city in the world and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pass through tunnels and witness an incredibly complex network of rooms, including a church, school, storage rooms, living rooms, altar, stage, etc. Take a deep breath of fresh air when you climb out of the hidden city and drive to Pigeon Valley to see panoramic views of old cave dwellings.
Enjoy a lunch of Turkish dishes and make a last stop at Uchisar Castle. It is the highest peak in Goreme, and you will find an incredible fortress made of interconnected, hollowed out rocks when you arrive at the castle at the top. It is also a perfect point to catch panoramic views of the countryside in the distance. Set your mind free and enjoy the beautiful scenery in silence. Your guide and driver will escort you to the airport for departure. Hope you have good memories of this magical place and wish you a happy journey home!
Optional Trip to Enrich Your Tour
A hot air balloon ride over this fantastic landscape is a highly recommended experience in Cappadocia. See panoramic views of the valley with fairy chimneys, rock formations, and cave dwellings. Celebrate the happy ending of your adventure with champagne. The memory of this beautiful moment will stay with you always.
