Itinerary Details

The following itinerary is for a 7-day Golden Triangle tour created by our tour designer. You can use it as a reference or you can change it as you like until it becomes the best itinerary for you. For a personal tour, you can appreciate the pleasure and flexibility of travel.

Day 1
Arrival in Delhi

On the first day, you will arrive in Delhi, the capital of India. In this city, the modern culture of the 21st century harmoniously combines with hundreds of ancient cultures. When you arrive at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.

We recommend a very traditional hotel. Although the style is traditional, the facilities are very comfortable there. You can have snacks and drinks by the hotel pool. Take a good rest ready for the next day's trip.

Day 2
The Culture of Delhi in Different Times

Your private tour guide will show you around Delhi. Delhi is a city where old and new cultures merge. Old Delhi's architecture is more traditional and New Delhi is a symbol of modern India. There, you can experience exotic costumes, join in with street festivals, celebrate at wedding parties together, and enjoy the Indian delicacies.

In the afternoon, your guide will show you around Qutub Minar, which is a World Heritage Site. The soaring conical tower is an exquisite example of Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture. Later, you will visit Humayun's tomb. It was the first square garden mausoleum in India and you can enjoy the amazing scenery of Central Asia.

The world-famous India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan are based in modern New Delhi, which is rare for such monuments. At the end of the trip, you'll go to Connaught Place where the streets see contrasts between high-end shops in New Delhi and traditional bazaars in Old Delhi.

Day 3
Agra — a City Full of Wonders

You will leave Delhi in the morning and Agra will be the next stop on your itinerary.

In the afternoon, you will visit Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb. Compared with the Taj Mahal, it's small and simple but its building style was deeply influenced by the Taj Mahal. Then, you'll go to Mehtab Bagh where you can have a panoramic view of the Taj Mahal and it is a good place to watch the sunset.

Day 4
The Amazing Taj Mahal and Agra Fort

The beauty of the Taj Mahal doesn't just come from its beautiful architectural form but also from the love of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Now, the Taj Mahal not only enjoys its reputation around the world but has also become a symbol for the interpretation of love.

After a break, your guide will take you to Agra Fort, which is also known as Red Fort. It was named this because the palaces and walls are all made of red sandstone. You will enter the castle via Amar Singh Gate. The geometrically symmetrical garden beside the palace is Anguri Bagh. On the side of the garden is Musamman Burj, the octagonal pavilion where the elderly Shah Jahan was said to have been detained by his son. He always looked at the Taj Mahal and missed his beloved deceased wife.

Day 5
Admire India's High Artistic Standards — the City Palace

In the early hours of the morning, you'll take a bus trip to Jaipur, known as the 'Pink City' of India.

In the afternoon, you will be led to the Jantar Mantar. There, your guide will teach you how to measure time using an instrument and you will see many ancient instruments.

Then, you'll go to the City Palace. You can see the full panorama of the city from there and it is now a museum of furniture and decorations. Located around the palace's courtyard, the four gates represent the four seasons: the Green Gate represents spring, the Lotus Gate represents summer, the Peacock Gate represents autumn, and the Rose Gate represents winter — each has its own characteristics.

Finally, your trip will end at Nahargarh Fort, which stands on the hills north of Jaipur's Old City. With its strong military defenses, it has resisted the onslaught of foreign invaders over and over again. The longest cannon in the world used to be there so the entire city was known for its invincibility.

Day 6
Light Up Amber Fort and Make Delicious Dishes

Your journey will begin with the Hawa Mahal, which is shaped like a huge pink "wall". Even though it is big enough to withstand the windy weather, the wind will still blow through the front and back windows but it is not strong enough to damage the building, hence the name of the Palace of Winds.

Then, you'll go to Amber Fort. It is called Amber Fort because the castle was built on a hill called Amber. Sheesh Mahal is the most famous pavilion there, with countless small mirrors on the palace walls, which are brilliant and beautiful in the sun. Just a little candlelight can reflect a thousand points of flickering light so it is a unique spectacle to behold.

After visiting this magnificent building, you will visit a local's home in Jaipur where the owner will tell you about the local dishes and will teach you some cooking skills for the local cuisine. This is not just a fun cooking course but a food exchange.

We strongly recommend staying in the traditional hotel we have selected, which was once a royal home. The service there is very intimate and you can experience the style and elegance of the royal family through the facilities at the hotel.

Day 7
Delhi Departure

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Delhi to take your flight back home. We, at Asia Highlights, wish you a pleasant journey!
