Itinerary Details
This itinerary is just a suggestion for you to plan your vacation. We specialize in designing private customer-oriented tours so just let us know your interests and expectations, and we will be happy to create a tour that satisfies your preferences.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your private tour guide who will be holding a sign with your name on it. Then you will be transferred to your hotel. Your guide will assist you with the hotel check-in process and will leave you free to have a rest — adjust to the jet lag on your first day.
Good morning Hanoi! Start your tour at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology — experience the ordinary lives of ethnic groups in Vietnam and learn more about their culture and history. Then visit the Temple of Literature — this Confucian temple was the first university in ancient Vietnam.
Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It is not to be missed if you love history. You will learn how Vietnam started and how it has evolved over the years.
Later, head to the famous Old Quarter to have an interesting local food hunting experience. Your tour guide, who's passionate about food, will help you to discover the exotic flavors that are only known by local fellow food lovers. Recommendations include egg coffee or fresh fruit served in a cup with crushed ice and condensed milk. Your guide will carefully choose clean stalls for this foodie experience.
You will be picked up by the cruise staff and transferred to the port for your cruise in the scenic Halong Bay.
Halong Bay is about 160 kilometers away from Hanoi and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are hundreds of thousands of islands with karst hills making various fantastic shapes on the sea, which are very picturesque. You will have the chance to stop at some fishing villages and landmark islets, such as Fighting Cock Islet and Human Head Islet, during the journey.
Enjoy a beautiful night on the cruise ship in a quiet port.
Have a leisurely breakfast and disembark the cruise ship at about 11am. Your private tour guide and driver will pick up you from the pier and transfer you to the airport in Hanoi for the flight to Hue.
Your private tour guide will meet you at the airport in Hue and transfer you to your selected hotel. After you have checked in at the hotel, enjoy some free time for the rest of the day.
After breakfast, explore the best of Hue by visiting Dong Ba Market, the Imperial City, and the Royal Palace.
Take a scooter ride to Tam Giang Lagoon where you will enjoy the beautiful view of fishing during sunset at this charming lake.
In the morning, your guide and driver will escort you from Hue to Quang Binh. The whole journey is about 200 kilometers. Quang Binh ranks fourth among the top 10 most attractive destinations in Vietnam by TripAdvisor. It is known as the world's cave kingdom and is a paradise for adventurous tour experiences.
During this 5-hour drive, you will stop at the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), the Ben Hai River, and Hien Luong Bridge. These sites had significant roles during the American War.
You will arrive in Dong Hoi in the afternoon. After some lunch and a rest, you will head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. This national park is one of the two largest karst areas in the world and includes 300 caves.
Participate in a relaxing hike through the rain forest and then take a small raft to discover the mysterious Phong Nha Cave (Wet Cave) and Tien Son Cave (Dry Cave).
Continue your adventure in the national park and have a relaxing cruise on the Chay River in a private canoe. Explore Thien Duong Cave (Paradise Cave) — among all the caves in the park, this one is absolutely beautiful. It is a dry cave and the walking area is about 1 kilometer long with many steps up and down. Watch out for the steps while you are in the cave!
In the afternoon, head back to Hue. Lunch is included on the way.
After a leisurely breakfast, your guide and driver will escort you to Hoi An. During this 2-hour journey, you will stop at the picturesque Hai Van Pass, which ranked as one of the 50 must-see places in life by National Geographic.
Have lunch on the way and your guide will assist you with the hotel check-in process before leaving you free for the rest of the day.
After breakfast, have a leisurely walking tour in Hoi An Ancient Town. The value of Hoi An's heritage lies in the many well-preserved ancient buildings and streets, which reflect the organic combination of Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese cultures and architectural styles. They have not been damaged by the war nor have they been demolished for the construction of high-rise buildings. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Fujian Assembly Hall, and the Old House of Tan Ky — these are must-see heritage sites in Hoi An Ancient Town.
Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
Then visit the Tran Family Chapel. It is interesting to find out how the Chinese have retained their culture and traditions overseas.
Join in with a cooking class at the Red Bridge Restaurant and Cooking School and learn how to make authentic Vietnamese cuisine from a local cooking expert.
Enjoy some free time in the morning.
Later on, you will be transferred via a private car to Da Nang International Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Your private tour guide will meet you in the arrivals hall at Ho Chi Minh City's airport and then transfer you to your selected hotel. After checking in at your hotel, enjoy some free time for the rest of the day.
Hit the road and travel to My Tho, a beautiful town that's about 75 kilometers away from Ho Chi Minh City, located in the Mekong Delta. This small town is perfect for experiencing a quiet riverside life. You will have the chance to take a canoe ride that's steered by a Vietnamese boatman. This flat-bottomed boat rides easily through the thick coconut groves. The different aspects of light and shadows are very pleasant to see.
My Tho has a rich variety of tropical fruits including coconuts. You'll stop by a workshop to discover the locals' lifestyles. You will be able to taste different kinds of fresh fruits and learn about the processes for making local specialties, such as rice wine and coconut products.
Ho Chi Minh City is also known as Saigon, a name that sounds very sentimental. After breakfast in the morning, take a relaxing walk from your hotel to the downtown area. Stretch out against the warm breeze, listening to Vietnamese and the roar of motorcycles along the way, and sniffing the rich coffee fragrance. Everything is so real and romantic. The Saigon Central Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, and Reunification Palace are not to be missed when sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City.
A simple lunch is included. Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Phu Quoc Island.
Your private tour guide will meet you in the arrivals hall at Phu Quoc International Airport and transfer you to your selected hotel. After you have checked in, enjoy some free time at the beautiful beach.
Enjoy two free days to explore this charming island. Relax in a spa, enjoy delicious food, go diving, go to parties, or just enjoy the beautiful beach.
Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport to catch the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City for your departure home.
