Four weeks tour of Thailand
We were extremely happy with Ms. A Teerarat, our Bangkog guide. Her knowledge of the history of all the places we visited was amazing. Her cheerful personality made it a joy to be with her and she felt more like a good friend than a guide. More

Tasteful & classic, 5 stars and more.
We feel blessed that Nid was our tour guide. She is friendly and truly wants to make sure your stay in Chiang Mai is over the top wonderful! She arranged for my husband to go to local specialty shop that was off the beaten path, she had all my market shopping discounted and was super sweet enough to go to our friends wedding with us (she explained what was in each Thai dish at the wedding) More

Even Cairo can reach about 29°C (84°F), meaning that you'll have to prepare for your visit by ensuring you have sun protection, sunglasses and a hat, and that you drink lots of water during your travels.
These temperatures are great for those visiting some of Egypt's many beaches, where the temperatures aren't too hot yet, but just right for tanning, swimming, snorkeling, and also diving.

Best Places to Visit in Egypt in April
The best places to go in Egypt in April are probably Alexandria, where the temperatures are moderate to high, and then the seaside places of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan are also recommended to visit while you are in Egypt, because of their importance in Egypt's history, but do bear in mind that the temperatures will be higher there in April as even spring in Egypt can get quite hot around midday and in the early afternoons.
See our handpicked itineraries for various durations: 5 days, 7 days, 8 days, 10 days, 12 days, 14 days and 21 days...
1. Alexandria
North from Egypt's capital Cairo, Alexandria is a great place to visit in April as the temperatures are a bit more moderate there when compared to the rest of the country.
Alexandria was home to Alexander the Great, and has lots of historical sights to visit including its museum. You'll also be able to get beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea from there.

2. Sharm el-Sheikh
One of Egypt's best spots for relaxation, Sharm el-Sheikh and its many resorts are a good place to visit in April. During this time of the year, the sea is warm, but the beaches aren't too hot to enjoy yet.
You'll also be able to get out into the Red Sea and do some snorkeling or diving, or Sharm el-Sheikh is a good place to start a trip to Mount Sinai from. This is the beach spot we recommend for a quieter beach holiday.

3. Hurghada
Another popular tourist spot, Hurghada, is also popular with tourists in April. There are lots of water-based activities that you can do around the many beaches, as well as a huge number of diving schools if you want to learn how to dive or get some dives in.
This is probably the place to go if you want a slightly more active beach holiday.
4. Others: Luxor, Aswan and Cairo
While Cairo, Luxor and Aswan aren't on the list, we do recommend visiting them if you are going to be in Egypt in April. The only reason for excluding them is because the temperatures can start to get high towards the end of April, which makes it a little harder to get all of your sightseeing in.
However, the sheer importance of these places in Egypt's ancient and more modern history means they are must-sees too. Cairo's proximity to the Pyramids of Giza also means it is a good base to see the pyramids from.

Festival in April in Egypt (Ramadan)
It is important to bear in mind that in 2025 the dates for Ramadan are February 28 to March 29.
This is one of the Muslim world's most important celebrations, when the Muslim population of Egypt fasts during daylight hours. Visiting during Ramadan is possible, and will give you some insight into Egyptian tradition and culture, but will mean you'll have to adjust your mealtimes with many restaurants shut during daylight hours.

Crowds and Cost
April isn't a peak time of the year to visit Egypt, and it is one of the last months when you can expect the weather to not be too hot. This is why there will be some crowds, but you wouldn't expect the tourist sites to be as busy as they are during the peak tourist season (December and January).
Prices are lower than the peak season too, as some tourists are scared off by the slightly higher temperatures already, meaning demand for accommodation and flights are lower. You can capitalize on this and expect to pay slightly less for your trip to Egypt in April than you would if you were visiting in December or January!

What to Wear in Egypt in April
The temperatures in April require at least one extra layer for the evenings in Alexandria and Cairo/Giza, and then light summer clothing for the rest of your trip and for during the days.
We recommend long linen trousers, or chinos, or long skirts and dresses for women, as tradition in Egypt is to cover both your shoulders and your knees. Linen shirts or cotton T-shirts are also a good idea, as they will protect you from the sun and ensure that you are dressed respectfully. You can read more about what to wear during your time in Egypt here.
Do make sure that you have a hat and sunscreen for your days outside, as there are high levels of UV during the day, and we recommend bringing supportive footwear for your days exploring as you will probably have a high step count!
