December is one of the most popular times of the year to visit Egypt, both as a result of the weather and the school holidays in most of the northern hemisphere. The reason that the weather makes December so popular to visit, is because the temperatures are a lot lower during this time of the year, making it more pleasant to walk around the tourist sights without breaking a sweat.

It is a little cold to go on a beach holiday in Egypt in December, but if you prefer lower temperatures on the beach it is definitely still doable, or if you are planning on going snorkeling or participating in water sports.

The city of Alexandria sees around 50 mm (2 in) of rainfall in December, but that's an exception, and you'll still be guaranteed sunshine as most days have sunshine and blue skies for at least part of the day.
